Hey, everyone…hope you all had a Happy Passover and Happy Easter, and that you’re enjoying this lovely Spring!
Onto the news:
I will once again be participating in the 2nd Annual LYRIC group show at 323 East Gallery, curated by my good friend and amazing artist Glenn Barr! I was so happy to be a part of the first show last year, so to be asked again was quite the thrill. The line-up for the show is pretty amazing!
For additional info on the show, please visit the 323 East website by CLICKING HERE.
The idea of the show is simple: each artist is to base a painting on a song lyric, and each painting is to be 12″ x 12″, the size of an album cover (for you youngsters out there, an album is a vinyl disc that you put on a turntable, and music comes out of the speakers). ;-)
I decided to base my painting on one of my favorite Jazz classics – King Pleasure’s “Moody’s Mood For Love” from 1952. You can hear the song HERE.
My painting is entitled “Heaven In Your Eyes”, and is mixed media on a birch box panel (something new for me), and measures, yes, 12″ x 12″! If you cannot attend the show, but are interested in getting more info on the piece / acquiring it, please e-mail gallery April Segedi at April@323East.com
