It’s been a couple weeks since my last blog…needless to say it’s because I have been crazy busy…
Over the last several weeks, I’ve received several large-scale commissions from collectors both here in the U.S. and in Europe. These will eat up a good chunk of time over the next month or 2, due to their size and scope. For one exciting piece in particular, I have enlisted the help of a woodworker in Malibu to fabricate an almost 9 foot tall 1950’s-style wooden surfboard made of Northern California Redwood and African Sapele Mahogany. I’ll be painting a special piece on it for some wonderful new collectors that will go in their beach house in Cabo San Lucas. I’m really looking forward to this one. :-) I will be posting progress photos on Facebook and on my blog as the work continues.
Some other potentially big news coming up for 2010. Nothing cemented yet, so I can’t announce just yet…but, it’s in the works. As soon as I get confirmations, I’ll post them. One good thing I just found out is that my Obama-themed work that I created last year will be featured in the upcoming book “Designing Obama”, written by Scott Thomas, the Design Director of the Obama campaign. You can read more about the book by CLICKING HERE. I believe the book should be released in January/February 2010.
Since the commissions I spoke about above will be taking up a good amount of time, my art output will be reduced thru December (although I hope to put out some new work here and there), but I just completed 4 new pieces, shown below. All are available now on my website… Enjoy!
