This past week saw the opening of the “Davmo & The Young Guns” retrospective exhibit at The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia that I have 5 canvases in. I’m told the opening was a massive success, and I’ll be posting photos on my blog, Facebook, and MySpace shortly! Thanks to Davmo and the entire staff at the museum for being so enthused about my participation. It is an honor to show at your museum!
In developing news, it’s official: my art will be featured in the forthcoming Obama art book “Designing Obama”, written and compiled by Scott Thomas, the Design Director of the Obama Campaign! The book will be released in November, and is hardbound 360 page full-color art extravaganza, so you can pre-order your books NOW by visiting the “Designing Obama” website. I just got back into Dallas his past Friday after spending a week back home in Los Angeles. Needless to say, I had a FANTASTIC time with family and friends, doing everything from celebrating my father’s 65th birthday to seeing Britney Spears in concert! (I know, right?). I also popped in to see the Buff Monster exhibit at Corey Helford Gallery located in Culver City (if you’re in L.A. and haven’t gone there yet, you really must…they are great people and show some fantastic art…big props to gallery director Dan Goldman, my new buddy!).
The most important thing that came out of my visit to L.A. was my formal decision that I WILL be moving back to Los Angeles! There are a lot of logistics to be figured out, but I will be moving back most likely by Spring…if not sooner! So, I’m looking forward to being back in the City of Angels…where I belong. :-)
Since I’ve been back in Dallas, I’ve begun work on a bunch of pieces I’ve had in my head, mostly smaller ones, but I’ll be starting some canvases this week. Below are the 2 latest pieces…enjoy! :-)
